Your Opinion: What is the best SLR Nikon Camera?
I don’t know much about SLR cameras, but I’ve been researching the Nikon so far. Some people have told me Sony is the best or Canon but I haven’t seen any sample photos so I can really judge. I’m looking for an SLR Camera that can capture bright and vivid color really well. Also, does well in low lighting. If anyone could recommend a particular Nikon model or other brand SLR I’d greatly appreciate it! Thanks!
The best Nikon is the D3x. But it’s far beyond my budget.
You may want to look at a Nikon D3000. That’s Nikon’s cheapest entry level DSLR. Runs about $500 with a kit lens.

The D40. It shows how 6MP is more than good enough.
I believe for what you want any entry level DSLR would be fine. I’d be checking out DSLRS on Amazon.com for Nikons and Canons.
D3X is the best Nikon camera body at present.
D40 according to me is one of the best thought of camera models from Nikon with very good performance.
For the kind of photos that you want, it depends a lot on post-processing rather than camera along. If you buy any of the Nikon bodies other than the latest ones then I suggest clicking raw and then post-processing them for the brightest and most vivid colors.
I believe the D5000 does better in low light than the D3000 because of its CMOS sensor. The D3000 has a CCD sensor, which is smaller.
